Green Head is a small Australian coastal town in the Shire of Coorow. The town is situated between Geraldton and Perth in the Mid West region of Western Australia along Indian Ocean Drive. Its beaches and lifestyle provide a relaxed holiday atmosphere. It is the home of what was a significant, but now declining, rock lobster industry.© Wikipedia

We called in to look at Green Head during our caravan trip from Dongara to Jurien Bay in West Australia - turn onto Green Head Road or The Lakes Road off Indian Ocean Drive. This is another pretty little coastal town which has several cafes advertising fresh lobster and crayfish rolls - I guess the fishing must be good here.
Dynamite Bay can be found in the middle of town and is a lovely little spot sheltered from the wind - perfect for swimming. This bay has a large car parking area with several tracks leading to the beach. A Rotunda sits at the edge of the beach with plenty of shaded seating to sit and enjoy the view. There are grassed picnic areas, shaded tables and toilet facilities.
Green Head's bays offer white sandy beaches where you can swim and snorkel, while offshore islands and reefs are perfect for fishing and scuba diving. Just south of Green Head is a sea lion breeding colony and tours are available with registered guides (access is restricted).
Bushwalking is popular with trails leading to many features and lookouts around town, to Lesueur National Park, or to Alexander Morrison National Park where you will see spectacular wildflowers during spring. We visited this area during November and still managed to see a range of beautiful flowers - you just have to look harder.
