It is located in the north west of Western Australia, and consists of the local government areas of Carnarvon, Exmouth, Shark Bay and Upper Gascoyne. We have been lucky enough to visit many of the areas along the coastline of the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia - from Exmouth to Shark Bay. We have not yet ventured inland in this area but hope to do so during the wild flower season on our next caravanning adventure.

Some highlights of our experience travelling in the Gascoyne Region are:

  • snorkelling along the Ningaloo coast - Exmouth
  • watching turtles off the coast getting ready to come ashore and lay eggs - Exmouth
  • bushwalking in Cape Range National Park - Exmouth
  • Snorkelling - Coral Bay
  • Swimming with the Manta Rays - Coral Bay
  • Visiting fresh Fruit and Vegetables plantations - Carnarvon
  • Tracking Station (OTC Dish) - Carnarvon
  • One Mile Jetty - Carvarvon
  • Blowholes - north of Carnarvon
  • Shark Bay - Stromatalites, shell block quarry, National Parks etc
  • Monkey Mia
  • Steep Point - the Western Most Point of the Australian mainland

RvTrips would highly recommend a holiday in the Gascoyne Region and suggest you allow yourself plenty of time - there is so much to see and do.  We found the weather to be mostly sunny during our trip in this area but it was very windy.
