The Darling Downs is a farming region on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in southern Queensland, Australia. The Downs are to the west of South East Queensland and are one of eleven major regions of Queensland. The region was named after the then Governor of New South Wales, Ralph Darling by Allan Cunningham, an early Australian explorer. The region has developed a strong agricultural industry with mining and manufacturing also dominate. Farming is so productive due to a large deposit of rich black soils. Coal seam gas extraction is currently experiencing significant growth.© Wikipedia

Darling Downs South West is in the southern part of Queensland and is a large agricultural area. We stayed at a lovely little place call Dalby while travelling through this region. They have a very large Pioneer Museum which is full of things from yesteryear - including a large collection of vehicles including farming equipment.
The Army Flying Museum at Oakey is well for a visit and this is located at Oakey Airport. We headed out to the Museum before leaving Oakey and found plenty of room to park with the caravan behind the car.
