We stopped overnight at Dalby during our caravan trip around Queensland. Dalby can be found on the Warrego Highway between Toowoomba and Roma. This is a lovely little town and we really enjoyed a walk along the river foreshore which looks great - picnic tables, exercise machines, signs about local bird, animals and fish that they are hoping to attract back to the river.

Next morning we went for a walk to another part of Dalby - lots of beautiful churches and very wide streets. The information centre is located at a lovely park in the middle of town which is well maintained with great play equipment for children - including a train made out of wood. A beautiful rotunda is located in the middle section of the park surrounded by lovely gardens.

On our way out of Dalby we called into the Pioneer museum - $5 per head allows you to visit anytime over a one week period. There are so many interesting things housed in this museum that it may take a week to see everything. A great collection of old trucks and tractors in the outside sheds. A large bottle collection from all over Australia - it seems that different towns produced bottled drink and each of these had the town name stamped on the bottle. Inside one of the small buildings is an old school room set up showing just how small the desks were and how little equipment the teachers had. The gift shop is jammed full of of local craft.
