Wilcannia is a country town located on the Barrier Highway between Broken Hill and Cobar. About a block from the main road is the Courthouse Cafe and Gallery (Corner Reid and Cleaton Streets) and this was very busy on the morning we drove through Wilcannia - the wide shaded verandah was full of diners enjoying coffee and brunch.
Historical buildings are scattered throughout and there a number of arts and craft places displaying local artworks. It can be very hot in this part of the state so take care when travelling.
