Port Hughes Tourist Park     Read more ...

Port Hughes is just south of Moonta Bay on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia - about 170 kilometres from Adelaide. Upon exploring the area we found a truly lovely caravan park which has two convenient sites on this beautiful part of the Copper Coast. One site is on West Terrace and the other on South Terrace - reception for both locations is at the South Terrace main entrance.

Port Hughes Tourist Park is part of the BIG4 group and has a lovely wide entrance for easy parking when towing the caravan. Others staying at the park can easily pass while you book your spot. The West Terrace site (the smaller of the two sites) is close to the jetty and boat ramp which is very popular with the many visitors who come to this great location for fishing. Port Hughes Jetty is apparently one of the most popular fishing spots on the Yorke Peninsula all year round.

Some facilities of this very neat and tidy tourist park are:

  • range of two bedroom cabins - executive cabins or holiday units
  • large powered sites - some with ensuites
  • level grassed unpowered camping sites - shady
  • barbeque areas
  • camp kitchen - close to all sites
  • three amenities blocks with family facilities - laundry
  • children's playground - jumping pillow - mini golf - go-karts - basketball ring
  • pets allowed on sites
  • gas and ice available
  • dump point
  • storage area to leave boats or caravans
  • fish cleaning facilities
  • some annual sites

Port Hughes Tourist Park is close to a local general store, tavern and a takeaway cafe for great fish and chips. Both locations have a walkway to the beach. RvTrips thought that the Port Hughes Tourist Park was a beautiful spot and a great place for a relaxing holiday.
