Mannum Caravan Park     Read more ...

Mannum Caravan Parks is Top Tourist park located on the banks of the Murray River, next to the ferry crossing and walking distance to town. The park was being renovated with new cabins and upgraded parkland along the foreshore, but this did not detract from a pleasant stay. Mannum Caravan Park is a lovely park with great facilities and we found the staff to be warm and welcoming. There are quite a few permanent vans but these are all well maintained, neat and tidy.

Features of this well maintained park are:

  • Camp Kitchen with Combustion heater and enclosed garden
  • Games Room
  • LPG refills, Ice, Milk, Newspapers -
  • Children's playground
  • ½ Court Tennis:- Racquets available for hire
  • Basketball ring
  • electric Barbecues under shade for the use of guests
  • Very clean amenities - facilities for the disabled, laundry
  • Boat ramp
  • Fish Cleaning Shelter

Mannum Caravan Park has a variety of cabins for overnight accommodation as well as powered and un-powered sites (grassed or paved slab). The "Pumphouse" is a bunkhouse style building within the park that provides accommodation for up to 32 people including  kitchen facilities, and a dining/meeting area, all under one roof - just in case you want to bring the whole family or organise a group meeting.

I used the kitchen to do some baking during our stay in Mannum and thought it was one of the best equipped camp kitchens I have seen during our travels. They have thought of just about everything you would need to prepare a meal, and the stainless steel benches make it easy to clean up afterwards. They even have dish washing detergent in a dispenser above the sink to make washing up easy.

We were able to launch the Fanatic inflatable SUP directly into the water from the caravan park and explore the Hermann Gass bird sanctuary which is separated from the main channel of the Murray River by trees and reeds. If you are interested in boating, fishing, canoeing, or SUPing this is a great spot to stay.

One evening while enjoying pre-dinner drinks with friends beside the water we were visited by a male and female swan and their five baby signets - a lovely end to a beautiful day on the Murray River.
