Harbour View Caravan Park     Read more ...

The Harbour View Caravan Park is the closest caravan park and campground to the Hervey Bay Marina and Fraser Island. The park is well shaded and we noticed that some of the sites were large enough to cater for 5th wheelers and motor homes.

The reception area is also a booking office for local tours and the ferry to Fraser Island leaves from the Marina across the road. The Harbour View Caravan Park is close to the Hervey Bay Boat Club  - a great spot to enjoy a drink or meal with views across the water.

There are a range of cabins available within the park - some fully self-contained and some without amenities. Sites have been made available for people travelling with pets but I would ring and check. The Harbour View Caravan Park has powered and un-powered caravan and camping sites, camp kitchen with barbeques and a pool.

Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park     Read more ...

Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park is a Council owned park on the beach at beautiful Hervey Bay. We stayed here for several nights during our last caravan adventure down the Queensland coast.  A warm welcome at reception and happy for us to look around at available sites before setting up for our stay. The beachfront sites were fully booked and I understand that you need to contact the park in advance to secure one of these popular spots overlooking the Bay.

Our site was large enough to leave the car hooked up for an early start on our day of departure. This park is centrally located and has a number of restaurants, cafes, bars and small supermarket within easy walking distance.

There are two sets of amenities, one of which is located behind the reception area. This was closest to our site and is an older style with a separate room for toilets and showers. These are immaculately clean and spacious - they look as though they have recently been renovated.  A large laundry sits between the ladies and men's facilities and has several washers and dryers - only $4 per load.

A camp kitchen with several barbeques was conveniently located near the entrance to the park.  The park has direct access to a beautiful beach and great walking/cycling path.  This path runs the length of the Esplanade with toilet blocks, playgrounds and exercise equipment at intervals along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park and look forward to spending more time in Hervey Bay in the near future. Highly recommended.

Torquay Beachfront Tourist Park     Read more ...

Torquay Beachfront Tourist Park is one of the council owned parks along the Esplanade in Hervey Bay - overlooking the water.  This is a popular place for visitors with easy access to shops, restaurants, bars and a great cycle path running the length of the Esplanade - about 14 kilometres.

The park has direct access to the beach for a morning walk or just sit at your van and enjoy the view.  The beachfront sites are sought after by visitors so make sure you book ahead.  The park has disabled facilities, camp kitchen with barbeques and clean amenities.

Highly recommended as a relaxing place to spend a few days.

Pialba Caravan Park     Read more ...

Pialba Caravan Park is one of the Fraser Coast Beachfront Tourist Parks and is located on the Esplanade in Hervey Bay -  right next door to the Wetside Water Park. Wetside Water Park is a great attraction where children of all ages enjoy fun under the water jets and giant bucket, and best of all entry is free.

The Esplanade bike path takes you along the boundary of this caravan park which is quite open with some of the caravan sites close to the road (no fencing). The park has very flat sites and a range of facilities:

  • BBQ's
  • camp kitchens
  • amenities with disabled facilities - laundry
  • boat ramp nearby for that fishing adventure in the Bay or to Fraser Island
  • picnic areas with plenty of shade
  • a range of shops within walking/cycling distance
  • tourist booking information and pick up
  • TV Room
  • No pets are allowed

Hervey Bay is only about three and a half hours from Brisbane and is the perfect spot for a quick getaway or family holiday.
